OUTDOOR AND 4X4 FESTIVAL 2026 (LAND ROVER FESTIVAL)

We have proudly hosted two very successful Land Rover Festivals in Uis. One in 2016 and one in 2018.

A third was planned in 2020 in Henties Bay, but unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. After a lengthy pause we are thrilled to announce the return of this land mark event.

This event marks a new chapter – for the first time, the festival will welcome all makes of vehicles, not just Land Rovers.

This inclusive approach is as a result of our growing community of “Landy Friends” a special charter within LRON representing non-Land Rover vehicles. We also have a growing number of members owning other makes of 4×4’s due the fact that Defender as we know it is becoming scarce.

A reconnaissance of the venue has been done and preparations are well underway.

Planned festival themes could include but are not limited to:

Off Road Challenge (time trails, rescue and recovery)
Show and Shine Parade (showcase classic or rare, modified and overland prepped vehicles)
Overland Village and Campsite
Campfire Chatter (best story)
DIY Off Road Repairs
Recovery procedures
Navigation and Expedition Planning (PPS vs maps, route planning, packing for trips)
Memorabilia Station
Name that Noise
Photo Safari
Trivia Pub Night (quiz questions)
4×4 Gear and Life Style Market
Festival Merchandise Tent
Eco-conscious Travel Talks
Charity Convoy

There ia a nearby farm some 15 klms away from Canyon Roadhouse that has wild camping available. No amenities.

A special camping menu including braai packs is being catered for at fair prices and these will be made available closer to the time.

Fire wood, fire lighters and ice are available for sale.

There is a fully serviced ATM available.

Petrol and diesel is available and fuel can be swiped for. (No commercial cards or fuel cards are accepted)

Important Notice
Fish River Canyon view point should preferably be visited during mornings. No pets allowed.
Payments for Fish River Canyon visits are cash only. N$ 100.00 per person and N$ 50.00 per vehicle.
Visiting times are between 06.00 and 18.00 daily.

The Canyon Road House 4×4 Route will be part of the program. Costs are N$ 150.00 per person and N$ 100.00 per vehicle.

We have arranged a 4×4 Canyon Drive on Canyon Farm Yard which is some 40 kilometers away from Canyon Road House. Costs for this excursion are still being negotiated.

09.30 – Setting up of stalls and browse
12.00 – Lunch
13.00 – Opening of event – Scripture and prayer. Drivers briefing
13.30 – Depart !! garas Self Drive 4×4 Route (take own snacks and refreshments) Refer to Event Information on LRON website regarding payment and costs.
18.00 – Sundowner on route at Canyon Lodge
19.00 – Return to Canyon Road House. Supper
20.00 – Registration for Pre-Dawn Walk, Run, Cycle

2 MAY SATURDAY
06.00 – Start Pre-Dawn 5 klm,Walk, 10 klm Run and 20 klm Cycle

08.00 – Cut off Pre-Dawn Walk, Run, Cycle

08.00 – Breakfast
09.00 – Drivers briefing and depart for Canyon Farm Yard Fun

Canyon Farm Yard has excellent Pies, Biltong, Droe wors, Milk Tart, Coffee and Tea.

(Please take cash as the swipe facility signal is not good.)

10.00 – Gymkhana track

12.00 – Dust drags – Knock out

14.00 – Depart back to Canyon Lodge

15.00 – LR Parts Competition (activity to be confirmed)
16.00 – Naute Kristall – Gin and Wine tasting
19.00 – Supper
20.00 – Know Namibia Quiz – Event book has all the information required

3 MAY SUNDAY
08.00 Breakfast
09.00 – Fish River Canyon view point Hobas. Refer to Event Information on LRON website regarding payment and costs.
12.00 – Lunch
13.00 – Land Rover line up followed by all makes line up (most brands in line up)
14.00 – Prize giving
15.00 – Event ends
Leisure time for those not departing back home.
