The Great South Tour

The event starts at Canon Farmyard in the South of Namibia on the road between Naute Dam and Grunau. Camping at the Canon Farmyard for one night we depart on the first leg of our trip taking us via Canon Roadhouse, Hobas, Aussenkehr, Sendelingsdrift where we cross the boarder into South Africa by pontoon. From there we camp for one night at Potjiespram camp site.
The following day we depart for The Hout Hoop near Kleinsee travelling via Eksteenfontein, Lekkersing and Port Nolloth. We camp at the Hout Hoop and the following day we meet up with tour guide Dudley Wessels who takes us on the Shipwreck tour down the West Coast to Koingnaas and ending in Hondeklipbaai.
The next day we depart for Skuinsbaai Noord were we will be wild camping for two days, exploring Spoeg Rivier caves and visiting the museum of the well known Gert Sarrisam on his farm. This museum boasts implements and various tools etc dating back 100 years. This is the highlight of our journey.
From here members wishing to extend their tour further South to the Cedarberg or the Western Cape will leave the main group who will proceed through the Namaqualand National Park and spend a night at Skilpad’s Camp in the park.
From there we head home and the return overnight stops will be communicated once they have been finalised.
