Namakwa Flower Tour

Sorry, unfortunately this trip is now fully booked

Overview of Namakwaland Flower Tour 19 to 27 August 2023

We meet up at Hobas on 19 August from where the trip officially starts. Do not miss Canon Road House on your way amongst a host of other sight seeing spots. For those arriving early a sight seeing trip can be done to the Fish River Canyon view point.

Evening meet and greet at leisure. For those arriving late the Fish River Canyon view point can be visited early the next morning.

We depart from Hobas at 09.00 on 20 August and pop in at Ai Ais hot springs after which we proceed via Aussenkehr to Sendelingsdrift.

Once we have crossed the river and cleared immigration we head to De Hoop camping area next to the Orange river for our next overnight stop.

21 August we depart from De Hoop at 09.00 and travel through the Richtersfeld via the Hell’s Kloof exit gate and on to Sanddrif and Lekkersing to the R382 tar road. From there we travel to Port Nolloth to stock up on supplies at the Super Spar and do some sight seeing around Port Nolloth and Mc Dougals Bay. We then travel to Kleinsee for our next overnight stop.

22 August we depart from Kleinsee in two seperate groups to do the Coastal Ship Wreck Tour that takes approximately 4 hours per group. We then travel via Koiingnaas to Hondeklipbaai where we overnight.

23 August we depart at 08.00 to the Namakwa National Park to view the flowers of Namakwaland – the main purpose of our trip. We will visit Riethuis, Wildeperdehoek pass and the Roof of Namakwaland after which we will proceed via Soebatsfontein to the Namakwa Coastal National Park where we will spend the following two nights camping on the coast line.

25 August we continue to the Southern exit of the Namakwa Coastal National Park namely Groenrivier and on towards Garies.

Essentially the trip finishes here. For those contemplating an extended tour to the Cederberg these members will be leaving the main group at this point. Consider making bookings for such a tour well in advance as the flower season will be in full swing.

From Garies we will have over enough time to get back home with either a one or two night stop over on the way. Namgate will be one option for the first night stop over and from there a number of options are available which can be discussed closer to the time. Some may opt to head for home from Namgate.

I will be posting accommodation rates, ship wreck tour price, park fees and Cederberg accommodation spots and rates shortly.
