Kuiseb Challenge 2025

The Kuiseb Challenge was one of the first events LRON held back in 2015.

At the time Malcolm Taylor, owner of Dunlop Tyre Zone sponsored the event and it was a huge success.

The following years the event was well attended and for two years we experienced the Kuiseb River in flood and this made for huge excitement.

After this due to poor attendance the event was not presented for two or so years. But 2025 has once again necessitated us to organize the Kuiseb Challenge once again.

The Kuiseb river has run a couple of times this year and at present is flowing slowly. We hope for some good rains between now and the event and that the Kuiseb will be flowing come the event.

Basically the event will start on Friday morning at 10.00 and the program will kick off from there.

We can expect some good off road driving but nothing too serious. A gymkhana type program will be part of the proceedings and there are prizes to be won.

Planning is under way for the gymkhana.

For those of you that have not attended a Kuiseb Challenge yet there are warm showers, flush toilets, ample shady camping spots and much more. Camping and ablutions are free of charge

10.30 Depart 4×4 self drive (remember snacks and refreshments)
13.00 Arrive back at camp. Lunch (self catering)
15.00 Gymkhana Part 1
18.00 Leisure time
19.00 Camp fire and braai (self catering)

SATURDAY 22 MARCH
09.00 Drivers briefing
09.30 Depart 4×4 self drive (remember snacks and refreshments)
12.00 Arrive back at camp (early lunch self catering)
13.00 Gymkhana Part 2
16.00 Leisure time
17.00 Prize giving
19.00 Camp fire and braai (self catering)
