DESCRIPTION:We have proudly hosted two very successful Land Rover Festivals in Uis. One in 2016 and one in 2018.\nA third was planned in 2020 in Henties Bay, but unfortunately had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. After a lengthy pause we are thrilled to announce the return of this land mark event.\nThis event marks a new chapter – for the first time, the festival will welcome all makes of vehicles, not just Land Rovers.\nThis inclusive approach is as a result of our growing community of “Landy Friends” a special charter within LRON representing non-Land Rover vehicles. We also have a growing number of members owning other makes of 4×4’s due the fact that Defender as we know it is becoming scarce.\nA reconnaissance of the venue has been done and preparations are well underway.\nPlanned festival themes could include but are not limited to:\nOff Road Challenge (time trails, rescue and recovery)\nShow and Shine Parade (showcase classic or rare, modified and overland prepped vehicles)\nOverland Village and Campsite\nCampfire Chatter (best story)\nDIY Off Road Repairs\nRecovery procedures\nNavigation and Expedition Planning (PPS vs maps, route planning, packing for trips)\nMemorabilia Station\nName that Noise\nPhoto Safari\nTrivia Pub Night (quiz questions)\n4×4 Gear and Life Style Market\nFestival Merchandise Tent\nEco-conscious Travel Talks\nCharity Convoy\nCanyon Roadhouse making up part of the Gondwana Collection is offering accommodation, camping and meals at a discounted rate.\n___\nAccommodation:\nRooms 20% discount included\nN$ 827.20 pppn sharing (bed and breakfast)\nCamping 10% discount included\nN$ 292.50 pppn\n12 Shaded camp sites and 3 floating camps (no shade)\nOvershoot camping will be allowed to accommodate larger numbers of campers.\nDinner 25% discount included\nN$ 429.00\nAll bookings to be done via email sales@gondwana-collection.com ( mailto:sales@gondwana-collection.com ) and are handled on a first come first served basis.\n___\nAlternative Accommodation:\nCANYON FARM YARD\nIgloo Double Rooms\n3 available at 1000.00 pppn sharing.\n8 Camping sites can take up to 8 people per site 230.00 pppn\nBookings can be done by cell phone 0816414610. (No commercial cards or fuel cards are accepted)\nImportant Notice\nFish River Canyon view point should preferably be visited during mornings. No pets allowed.\nPayments for Fish River Canyon visits are cash only.
